Latest company news about Charting a Greener Future: Our Collaborative Dialogue with Saemangeum Development Administration
In the global pursuit of sustainable development, the fusion of cutting-edge environmental technology and large-scale ecological projects stands as a cornerstone for building a greener tomorrow. Recently, our company welcomed a high-ranking delegation from the Saemangeum Development Administration (SDA), led by Senior Officer Kim Yun-cheol and Chief Administrator Hwang Won-jin. This pivotal meeting served as a dynamic platform for exchanging expertise, aligning sustainability visions, and exploring potential partnerships to elevate environmental standards for South Korea’s transformative Saemangeum development initiative.
As a frontrunner in environmental equipment innovation, we have long dedicated ourselves to crafting solutions that balance industrial advancement with ecological protection. During the discussions, we highlighted our core technological competencies tailored to Saemangeum’s unique challenges, focusing on three critical areas: advanced water treatment systems, state-of-the-art flue gas purification equipment, and high-efficiency thickening technology.
Our water treatment solutions, incorporating advanced membrane bioreactors (MBRs) and zero-liquid discharge (ZLD) systems, directly addressed Saemangeum’s needs—from its 118-square-kilometer freshwater lake to industrial water supply for emerging sectors. With the SDA ramping up water pipeline construction for secondary battery enterprises and prioritizing integrated water surface management, our equipment’s capability to process high-volume, complex wastewater while enabling resource recycling struck a chord. Meanwhile, our flue gas treatment systems, equipped with low-nitrogen combustion and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology, align seamlessly with Saemangeum’s goal of developing a 6GW renewable energy complex and achieving carbon-neutral industrial operations. Additionally, our high-efficiency thickeners—designed for sludge dewatering and mineral concentration—emerged as vital tools for the project’s land reclamation and agro-bio area development.
The SDA delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the Saemangeum project, South Korea’s largest reclamation undertaking spanning 409 square kilometers—equivalent to two-thirds of Seoul’s area. Senior Officer Kim Yun-cheol outlined key 2025 priorities: expediting the completion of 1 million pyeong (≈3.3 million ㎡) of industrial land in the Second Industrial Park and accelerating infrastructure development, such as the Feiying 2 and 3 substations, to support energy-intensive businesses. Chief Administrator Hwang Won-jin underscored the project’s dual mission of driving economic growth while upholding environmental stewardship, noting the pressing need for reliable environmental equipment to accommodate incoming investments—including China’s Xiamen Tungsten Industry’s recent 15 million USD expansion plan.
The dialogue was characterized by mutual enthusiasm and strategic synergy. The SDA delegation expressed keen interest in our integrated environmental solutions, recognizing their potential to support Saemangeum’s vision of a “vibrant green waterfront city” that harmonizes industry, tourism, and nature. Our team, in turn, was inspired by the project’s scale and ambition, viewing it as an exceptional showcase for the real-world impact of our technologies.
“Saemangeum is more than just a development project—it’s a blueprint for 21st-century sustainable urbanization,” stated our CEO. “We are privileged to contribute our expertise to this landmark initiative, helping turn its green vision into tangible results.” Senior Officer Kim Yun-cheol echoed this sentiment: “Partnerships with innovative environmental technology providers are essential to Saemangeum’s success. We anticipate deepening our collaboration to build an eco-friendly industrial hub that sets global benchmarks.”
As the meeting drew to a close, both parties agreed to establish a follow-up working group to explore specific cooperation avenues, including water treatment pilot projects in the Third and Seventh Industrial Zones. This engagement not only strengthens ties between our company and the SDA but also lays the groundwork for a transformative partnership that will shape sustainable development in Northeast Asia.
In a world where environmental challenges call for collective action, this dialogue represents more than a business exchange—it’s a shared commitment to building a greener, more prosperous future. Together, we are poised to turn challenges into opportunities, technology into progress, and vision into a lasting legacy.
